That’s right you can play right along by answering questions.  For each question you get right you’ll get absolutely nothing except the knowledge that you’ve played Weather Trivia! But if you get a question wrong you’ll get a horrible sinking feeling that if you go outside you could be attacked at any moment by angry eagles, bandit beavers, or rabid pidgeons.

Play and win absolutely nothing...

Question:  Is it safe to play or camp near a stream?
Answer:    No. Flash floods occure usually without warning and can start many many miles from where you are. Even if you don’t see rain or aren’t being rained on doesn’t mean that the head of the stream or the feeders to that stream aren’t being overloaded. As such if you are out in the middle of nowhere how are you going to be kept informed of potential dangers?  You aren’t. Use your surroundings wisely.

Question:  Can I drive my car through running water?
Answer:    If the water is just usual drainage in the street then it’s problably safe. However if it’s covering most of the street and or the street has been blocked by water then don’t. Your tires act as floatation devices and can lift you car enough that the power of the water can put you in great danger. Remember Phoenix, AZ our home town is the town that invented the stupid driver law where if you were dumb enough to cross it you are responsible for the cost of rescue.
